Jody Military Meme

Jody Military Meme - While discarded rounds are not fun to pick up after some serious firing at the range, why not make the best out of a crappy situation. This soldier right here decided to make a ‘freedom angel’. However, this is not an ideal winter weather situation to be going this.

If you see what we mean, there’s some humor added to it and they placed Jodi and Suzy together in the story. There’s a little bit of obscenity there, but those elements have already compromised the running cadences rhythms in the military. The song has a light and fun element to it which can make any people get up and running.

Flew a plane recently? Didn’t like the leg room? Ah…the Army has seen worse. In fact, these military planes make leg room on a commercial flight look a lot more generous. Not to mention, those seats look kind of uncomfortable. So maybe spending $150 on a flight may not seem so bad.

It’s a dirty job, but someone’s gotta do it. This soldier learned the hard way. It’s true that those who join our military have sworn to protect the freedom of our country against all enemies. However, things can happen at an Army Barracks (especially at a latrine on base).

Airline Seats – Great Army Meme

Meet Jody. Jody decided to shirk his patriotic duty and stay home while you chose to serve your country. Jody is lying in wait, plotting to steal your girl when you’re away. It’s easy: Jody will swoop in, console her when she’s lonely, then slowly fill your boots simply because he’s there and you’re not. He’s the original “Mr. Steal Your Girl,” and he is every soldier’s worst nightmare

I am Everett Bledsoe, taking on the responsibility of content producer for The Soldiers Project. My purpose in this project is to give honest reviews on the gear utilized and tested over time. Of course, you cannot go wrong when checking out our package of information and guide, too, as they come from reliable sources and years of experience.

Tad Tuleja and Eric A. Eliason, authors “Warrior Ways,” explain that Jody permeated military culture after World War II, not just because men were concerned about civilians stealing their women, but because they were keenly aware of their own “waywardness.” If a soldier could seek the company of another woman while in theater, there’s no reason why his wife or girlfriend couldn’t or wouldn’t do the same.

Have you ever heard of the term “Jody”? It sounds like a name, doesn’t it? But in the military, it is actually slang. The military jody meaning contains a negative connotation and is not as cheery as it sounds. We will explain it in detail below. So, read on to find out what does Jody mean in the military

Join The Army They Said…

In the Army, they are taught to learn and respect their rifles (and other weapons). While a machete may not be a weapon for soldiers, it can be used for something useful like cutting through thick vegetation and the like. This daredevil soldier looks like he’s about ready to catch this blade after tossing it around. But it looks like he’s going to catch it on the wrong end. Talk about a trick gone wrong. Time for the safety briefing on how NOT to handle sharp objects.

As defined in Wikipedia, “Jody” is a military cadence and a term used to call the other men that a military member’s wife or girlfriend sees or dates while her husband or boyfriend is serving. In essence, “Jody” is the man who steals a soldier’s girlfriend or wife. Aka. Mr. Steal Your Girl!

The Army holds a high standard to cleanliness and attention to detail. And no drill sergeant wants to see a train wreck unfold before their eyes. Unclog that and give me twenty. Another funny Army meme up next…

Our first Army meme kicks off with a bang. There is no denying that the Army loves to get down and dirty (especially in the mud pits of the obstacle course during basic training). Yet, they are not afraid to get a little wet when they are outdoors.

Safety Briefing

When the new recruits step off the bus for basic training, the first person they are greeted by is none other than a drill sergeant. They are inches away from your face and yelling at you to “do this” or “do that”. For some, it can be a scary experience (and scare you straight).

As a result, Jody is generally depicted as lacking military qualities and attributes, such as being physically unfit. While the soldier is away, Jody will “woo” his girl, drive his car, and effectively, take his place. Usually, the “girl” in this story is referred to as “Susie” the soldier’s sweetheart.

These hilarious chants may or may not be used in the military, but they sure sound funny. The army can be put to shame if they are heard singing these hymns. Some of these have been made out of jest from military aficionados. And we mean it that it’s quite funny and inappropriate at times.See the most comical cadencies here. From birds to mommas, and cows and grievances, they are sure to make your head spin and belly hurt from amusement.

The U.S. military’s use of term dates back to roughly 1939 when it was introduced to the U.S. Army by African-American soldiers during World War II. Originally, “Jody” was “Joe the Grinder,” and blues singers used to croon about him — a disreputable man who cuckolds prisoners and soldiers by stealing their wives and girlfriends. While he’s Joe simply because it’s a common name, the “Grinder” comes from the 19th century slang for sex. Jody literally grinds up on, and then, in your girl.

Running In The Rain

There’s always a running joke where lieutenants don’t have a clue what they’re doing (or where they are going), even with a map. Unfortunately, for this group of soldiers, what appeared to be a harmless mud puddle ended up being something more. And their humvee since to the bottom of what appears to be a mud pit.

Mad DogMad DogMad DogOh YeahMDMad DogThats a meOh YeahOh YeahMy Grand mama was 92She used to PT like me and you.My grand mama was 96,She did PT just for kicks. My grand mama was 107,Well the poor girl died and went to heaven. My grand mama was 98,She went side straddle hoppin through the pearly gates. My grand mama was 109,She had St. Peter doubling time.

Everyone’s heard of a Jody: whether you’ve met one, had a brother come to you for advice about one, or seen one in your favorite military move. “Jarhead’s” infamous “Deer Hunter” scene did him the most justice, when Brian Dettman thought his wife had sent him the war classic on VHS, which had instead been taped over with homemade porn featuring her and Jody.

The Army Rangers are known for leading the way. But according to this Army meme, it might not go the way that it’s planned. Especially when one ranger forgets to move a certain piece of equipment from his rifle while he’s one the move. All jokes aside, the Army Rangers are hands down one of the best fighting forces in the military.

It Was At This Moment…Funny Army Meme

Cadences in the army are known as your jogging or marching song. You can tell from its usual lines like from The Duckworth Chant, “Sound off, 1,2,” and “Sound off, 3, 4!” The main reason for a cadence while marching, is for the soldiers to keep on track with the beat.Throughout the years, these hymns have been further developed to inject humor, military life, and bragging for some. Because not only, they have to keep on track with their steps, they have to be amused as well while keeping their cool in check during jugging. Yes, they have to be serious while singing that funny song or two!

Our next military meme may not apply to just the Army, but any other branch that wears camo gear. Imagine that not working to your advantage except your grandma’s couch (which looks exactly like the camo you wear). So why not get your grandma to send the couch to your base or wherever you are doing combat training? You’ll blend in quite nicely it seems. The enemy won’t see you coming, even when they decide to sit down and relax. A hilarious Army meme!

Sir Doge Of The Coin ⚔️ On Twitter:

We’re not sure if it was mud or not. But this photo makes for a great meme between enlistees of the Army and the officers who lead and command. The enlisted Army members are lower ranked, so whatever the commanding officer says goes. If you’re a former Soldier, you might have some stories about doing some grunt work as an enlistee.

It permeated the military culture not only because of the prevalence of a “Jody” appearing in a member’s picture, but also because soldiers were aware of their “waywardness.” Simply put, if one could seek the company of another woman while serving, then there is no reason their wife or girlfriend cannot or would not do the same.

Forget The Map

Suzie said to me one day long ago,Honey please dont join the Corps. They like to do nothing but fuss and fight,They look at women like they’re high and tight. They got poor table manners and they are so crude,They got a board’s sense of humor and they are so rude.I said Suzie let me tell you what I’ll do,I’ll join the Corps just for a year or two.So I packed my trash and I headed for the plane,I went to the place where they made Marines.Oh YeahOh YeahParris Island was the name of the place,The first thing I saw was a Drill Instructors face.Oh YeahOh YeahHe had razor creases and a Smoky Bear,Mountain climbing privates everywhereSuzie said it’s me or the Corps,I cant take this life anymore.I looked at her with a big ole grin,I haven’t seen Suzie since I don’t know when.Oh Yeah

This next to last military meme speaks a lot of truth. A lot of us complain about that “hard day” of work. For the Army, they work long hours. And they are mostly in stressful situations (especially when they are combat-related). So it’s always important to give them their thanks.

In an homage to one of the most iconic lines of the movie ‘Titanic’, the Army decided to take it upon themselves to make their own version. Three soldiers working together when one of them decides to re-enact the scene. Before the Army does anything, they request permission such as to ‘speak freely’ and the like.

Casual Friday at any workplace is typically a t-shirt and jeans at the office (as opposed to the usual attire). But for one soldier, it seems that he takes it a little too far. He’s got his helmet and his backpack. However, he decides that today might have been the day to show up for work wearing a t-shirt and boxers.

Rangers Lead The Way…Maybe

Jody calls are used across the branches. However, they are not officially taught in institutions. Plus, they do not appear in the FM 3-21.5, Drill and Ceremonies Field Manual. Nevertheless, some military leaders tolerate and even encourage them.

As such, the same military men who curse “Jody” may one day make an excuse, “What happens in the military, stays in the military.” This also parallels the common saying, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

We’re going to cut this short – mainly, there are four known types of cadences in the military. They are patriotism or reverent, the non-military hymns like for police force, the humorous, and the obscene ones. The examples above are lists of both entertaining and a dash of obscene. Although there are plenty more of funny cadences in the military, these are the top ten we have chosen for you to know.

As you have read, “Jody” is a term used in the military to refer to the civilian man who steals the wife or girlfriend of a soldier in service. It is cited in military cadences. Thus, these cadences are sometimes also referred to as jody calls. It is a clipped version from the name “Joe the Grinder” in old time blues mythology and jazz. “Jody” is so well-known in military culture that it appears in songs and films.
